114: Leporidaphobia

Hey, it’s a genuine condition. And, yes, that big word in the title of today’s strip does refer to a fear of rabbits. Or, at the very least, animals in the same family. All I know is that, in the morning, when I’m having to type out the title four or five times when I’m posting the link to the strip in the forum and on Myspace and Facebook, it’s going to be a bitch. I suppose I could copy/paste, but that would be both easy and smart.

There is going to be a bit of character development in tomorrow’s strip, but don’t worry, there’s still a punchline. I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of long-form strips where they don’t seem to worry about putting a punch at the end of the comic. Usually, it just seems like the comic stops when the author runs out of room. Well, I don’t condone that sort of thing. In fact, I think the best thing you can do at the end of every strip: kill a character. Even if it’s just someone in the background. That will get people’s attention.

As a final note, for those of us who are into Sluggy Freelance, yes! Let’s get that ball rolling, Pete. It’s been eleven years, so I think it’s time for this sort of story to get underway. While the scene with Torg in the rain at the end of “Fire and Ice” was great, it’s about time this sort of thing moved to the next level.

Strip 102

There’s an error in today’s strip (and in the first panel no less), but I’m working on correcting it right now.

An Extra Trailer

So, for Wednesday’s post (which I already uploaded) I did a sort of “Trailer Roundup,” where I talk about different movie trailers I’ve seen and give my opinions on them. Unfortunately, I published the post before I saw this, the most boring trailer ever.

Nights and Weekends

Seriously, just thinking about what I just saw was enough to juzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz………………

The Strangest of Alberts

So, there’s a new Weird Al song out, and I thought I would share. It may make me extremely nerdy, but I’m a huge Weird Al fan. Either way, check it out.

How Serendipitous

Okay, so I have to draw your attention to this, right? Apparently there’s a 24 year-old gamer running for public office in Phoenix, which is where Game U is set. That’s just awesome. I’ve certainly lost track of Phoenix-area politics since I left the state (we still hate Napolitano, right?), but this is extremely amusing. It’s giving me future storyline ideas already.

Knowledge, It’s Power

Here’s just a few of the things that my new boss (who, keep in mind, manages a technology company) doesn’t know:

  • What a motherboard is
  • What a processor is
  • The difference between a hard drive and a processor
  • How to open a PDF file
  • How to rotate a picture (hint: click the rotate button)
  • What an SD card (and we sell them here in the store)
  • How to use a scanner
  • How to not be stupid
